Boar park News 2006

Tractor and Trailer Ride
Come and have a go on our new improved tractor ride.   The tractor ride, constructed in April, is now 15 minutes long and takes you past 3 lovely ponds.  During the ride you can look at a variety of trees, moorhens with chicks, Egyptian Geese and if you are lucky you may spot a Heron or Roe Deer in the woods.
Play Area
During March we improved our children’s play area and have built a very exciting zip wire which is very popular with young and old!  The sandpit  now has a digger and there are other new pieces of equipment to play on.

Gift Shop

At Easter time our Souvenir Shop was moved to larger premises to make room for a greater variety of gifts.  We stock Wild Boar Meat, gifts and treats for all the family.

Nature

The Spotted Flycatcher bird has made a nest and has had 5 baby birds.

A Blackbird has made a nest and laid 4 eggs.  The eggs are light blue & spotted with red.

New Animals

We have 3 Patagonian Mara or Hares, 1 is a male and the other 2 are females.  The Hare are native to Central & Southern Argentina and eat grass and  other herbage.

We have a male and a female Skunk and are hoping to breed baby skunks  - watch this space!

This handsome pair  are Reindeer called Blitzen and Donner.  They are 12 months old and like to go for walks around the park.  They like grass and branches of Willow off  our trees.
