About Bowland Wild Boar Park

Situated in the heart of the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding National Beauty (AONB) Bowland Wild Boar Park lies on the banks of the River Hodder. Surrounded by fells and woodland teeming with wildlife and wildflowers it is a delight for those that enjoy fresh air, fun in the outdoors or simply want to relax away from the hustle and bustle. It is the perfect place for a relaxing, fun filled day out in the beautiful Ribble Valley.

We are an independent, family owned, Park and have been welcoming visitors since we opened our doors in 1999. We take great pleasure in sharing our love of animals, wildlife, and amazing Lancashire Countryside, whilst ensuring our visitors have a memorable, enjoyable, and fun packed day out.

We have plenty of activities to choose from along with plenty Wild and Farm animals that you can enjoy petting or observing. We’ve a huge Kids Adventure Play area with slides, zip wire, swings, and lots of things to climb or crawl through along with Tractor & barrel rides for the kids. For a gentler pace we have woodland and river walks for those that love to explore.

There are also lots of places where you can sit and enjoy the peace and tranquillity, fresh air, and stunning views. Our relaxing café also offers a refreshing selection of hot drinks, snacks and freshly prepared homemade light lunches and cakes – all with a magical view of the huge variety of feeding wild birds and wildlife that visit our feeders and pond daily.

As well as day visitors and families we also cater for schools, groups, and societies. Offering a wide variety of organised and supervised activities for all ages, with refreshments and a comfortable and relaxing place to meet. Also, for those that want to stay a little longer, our Camping Pods are available to book nearly all year round.

The Countryside isn’t just an amazing place to visit though. It is also the perfect environment to learn about conservation, animal welfare and how to get most of the great outdoors safely. We love welcoming schools and educational groups to the Park. Sharing our passion for animals, the countryside and our precious environment, our visitors enjoy hands on practical experience and leave with valuable knowledge and memories that will last a lifetime.
